Description

Hout Bay Beach is a mecca for beach lovers. Between the cliffs of Chapman’s Peak and Cape Town is the historical and charming of Hout Bay Harbour. The beach is one of the most iconic of Cape Town Beaches.  It is a beautiful beach with white sand that stretches almost a kilometre in length and half a kilometre in places. The Hout Bay River cuts through Hout Bay beach. The River traverses from from the top of Table Mountain down to the Hout Bay wetlands to the beach. A great family spot. Plenty of space for beach volleyball, beach cricket, or flying kites. The bay is calm, ideal for swimming. The bay is the main departure point for ocean safaris, fishing, snorkeling, and other water sport activities. Pop into the Yacht Club. On windy days the if you are not a surfer or kiteboarder, watch the excitement from the shore. And tip:  the beach is dog friendly. While on the beach stop by the historical Hout Bay Harbour, Bay Harbour Market place for a little shopping or a bite to eat. Mariner’s Wharf at the harbours side of the beach and many beachside restaurants and bars means seaside lunches and dinners are well catered for, and sunsets have a suitable cocktail accompaniment.
