The pollution of plastic in the harbour and surrounding areas has been identified as a serious detrimental environmental threat to the village. In addition, a threat to the attraction and appeal to foreign and local tourists.This lead to a team of local volunteers has established a non profit organisation , appropriately named JUNKSTARS.
We strive to be the most effective and sustainable recycling model whilst contributing to poverty alleviation in local communities and promoting a healthy environment for residents and visitors as well as the well being of local marine life.
