Seal Island Fun Things to Do

For something a bit more chill, or if you have kids, cruise out to Seal island or tour the harbour. Have a picnic with your kids or loved ones! Anytime of the day a picnic can laid-back and cosy.  But sunsets are the best, with so many splendid, and photogenic, picnic spots in Hout Bay.  Locals can attest Chapmans Peak Drive offers the primo view to watch the sun go down a favorite things to do in Cape Town.  Grab a gourmet picnic basket from Protea Picnics and make a leisurely afternoon of it. As far as things to do in Cape Town, And no sundowner in Hout Bay is complete without a gin and tonic.  Hout Bay is home to some of the finest craft gins. Blackwood Spirits Cape Kelp Gin and Tonic


  • 1 part of Blackwood Spirits Cape Kelp Gin
  • 4 parts good tonic water (we recommend Fitch and Leedes)
  • Garnish: brined olive and a sprig of rosemary


  • Place ice into gin glass
  • Add gin
  • Pour in tonic
  • Garnish with a brined olive or two and some rosemary and enjoy!
