JUMP ‘n SHOUT for Parley Ocean School

Parley Ocean School and Local Artists in the News

Parley and the Sentintel Ocean Alliance offers beach clean ups and events.  Cape Town artist Matthew Edward’s inspiration stemmed by a recent clean up in creating the adidas Trefoil logo. The German shoemaker adidas just opened its first and most sustainable South African store.  The new adidas store is at at Cape Town’s V & A Waterfront, says Business Insider International.

Part of the store’s aesthetic includes a ‘Footwear Reimagined’ display which six South African artists created: Danielle Clough, Atang Tshikare, Xhanti Zwelendaba, Ben Eagle, Hannerie Visser, and Matthew Edwards. Each artist’s design blends a pair of iconic Adidas shoes together with materials specific to their craft. Materials such as yarn offcuts, reclaimed wood, and other approaches to sustainable practices.

Visitors will find a technology-led store with digital touch-points throughout.  Creating a range of consumer-first experiences for the South African market.

The adidas Concept Store at the V&A Waterfront will be the new home of adidas Runners Cape Town, with secure lockers available in-store to store personal belongings while out on a run.

Congratulations to all six artists and to the Parley Ocean School and the Sentinel Ocean Alliance.
